What this website does (and doesn’t do)
- There are no contact forms, sign-ups or accounts, and no newsletter.
- We use Google Analytics for visitor statistics, only if you accept. No advertising and no profiling.
- Fonts, images and the map (a static image) are on our own server. Only if you accept statistics does the page also load the Google Analytics script.
Cookies and statistics (Google Analytics)
The first time you open the site, a small notice at the bottom asks whether you accept statistics. Until you choose, and if you decline, the site does not load Google Analytics and sets no statistics cookies.
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to learn, in aggregate, how many people visit the site, on what kind of device, and which buttons they use (for example “Call” or “WhatsApp”). We don’t use this data for advertising or profiling.
- Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
- Purpose: statistics on how the site is used.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.
- Cookies:
_gaand_ga_KGCC93KW5K, lasting up to 2 years (Google’s default setting). - IP address: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
- Advertising features and Google Signals are switched off.
- Statistics data stays in Google Analytics for 14 months and is then deleted.
- Transfer: Google may also process the data in the United States. The transfer takes place under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which Google has joined.
- Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
To change your mind, use the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page (or ) and choose “Decline”. Statistics stop straight away and the _ga cookies are deleted from your browser.
We remember your choice (accept or decline) in your browser for 6 months, then ask again. It is saved in the browser’s local storage (or, if that is not available, in a technical cookie called “phoniamo_consent”). This is a technical tool: it only remembers your choice and does not require consent.
The people who manage the site and log into its admin area (WordPress) also receive technical login cookies. These are necessary for the site to work and do not require consent.
Technical browsing data
When you visit the site, the server that hosts it automatically logs some technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, date and time. This is used to run the site and protect it from abuse; we don’t use it to identify you.
- Hosting: Namecheap (EasyWP service). The servers are in the United States: data is transferred outside the EU with the safeguards required by Articles 44 et seq. GDPR (for example standard contractual clauses).
- DNS: Cloudflare, only to resolve the domain name; the pages do not pass through Cloudflare’s servers.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest in running the site securely (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Retention: only as long as strictly necessary, as set by the hosting provider.
Links to other services
The site links to other services. If you use them, you leave our site and your data is handled by those services under their own privacy policies:
- WhatsApp (wa.me links): WhatsApp Ireland / Meta – WhatsApp privacy policy
- Google Maps (location, directions, reviews): Google – Google privacy policy
- OpenStreetMap (map credits): OpenStreetMap Foundation – OSMF privacy policy
- The call buttons open your device’s Phone app: the call goes through your own phone provider.
If you contact us or bring in a device
If you call us, message us on WhatsApp or leave a device for repair, we use the data you give us (for example your name, phone number, messages and device details) only to reply to you and to carry out the repair or sale (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
We keep receipts and invoices for as long as Italian tax law requires (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
We don’t sell your data or pass it on to others for advertising. We make no automated decisions and do no profiling. Giving us your data is not compulsory, but without a way to reach you we can’t reply or tell you when your device is ready.
Your rights
At any time you can ask to access your data, correct or erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a readable format (portability), as provided by GDPR Articles 15–22.
To do so, call us or message us on WhatsApp at +39 389 488 2888, call the landline 0143 143 7773, or come to the shop.
If you believe your data is not being handled correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
